The Teleimperium is a microcontroller board built around the ATmega328 with an integrated socket for Xbee or compatible radio modules as well as a full duplex RS422/485 transceiver. The radio socket is hard-wired to digital IO pins 6 and 7 on the ATmega, allowing the radio to be used via a "soft" serial port and leaving the UART free for programming and computer communications. The hardware UART pins 0 and 1 are selectable via a toggle switch between the full duplex RS422/485 transceiver and the FTDI breakout module. This allows for regular programming via the FTDI dongle or for long distance communication over CAT5 cable to our RS485 Stick.

Teleimperium sensor nodes are compatible with the Arduino programming tools.
